Yeah, that's definitely a case of "Er... why did you read it then?" It's like there some people go out of their way to read stuff that they don't like.

I took some time away from the issue and I definitely feel better now, so I think I will say something to that effect.

It's the kind of point of that I wouldn't object to in a writer's workshop or something, because then I'd either go back and rework it or say, "Hey, I like it how it is, but I'll keep in mind that some people wouldn't agree." But fanfiction isn't a writer's workshop. It's something people do for fun and it doesn't have to be a learning experience.
