Fic Meme
I saw this meme going around a while ago and didn't have time to attempt it, but I do now, so here goes.
Rules: Go to your AO3 works page, expand all the filters, and answer the following questions!
I have 163 works posted on AO3.
What’re your first and second most common work ratings?
Teen (82)
General Audiences (48)
What’s your most common archive warning?
No Archive Warnings Apply (151)
Least common?
Major Character Death (1)
Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?
Not really. I do like to give tropes a try if I haven't already, but I don't go much out of my way to get beyond my comfort zone. I'm just trying to have a good time!
How many stories have you made in each pairing category?
M/M (107)
F/M (38)
F/F (24)
Multi (23)
Gen (11)
Other (3)
Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?
Yeah, obviously I have a preference. I like ships of all kinds, but I write M/M most often.
What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers?
1. Kingsman (60)
2. Wild Wild West (13)
3. Thorne (10)
4. Cormoran Strike (9)
Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?
I migrate a lot. I'm not 100% inactive in any of these- though I'm pretty over Kingsman- but I'm mostly into different fandoms at the moment.
What are your top 4 relationship tags?
1. Harry Hart/Eggsy Unwin (46)
2. Artemus Gordon/James West (12)
3. Robin Ellacott/Cormoran Strike (9)
4. Phil Hendricks/Tom Thorne (8)
Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?
I'm not puzzled. Now that I am, as previously stated, pretty over Kingsman I'm amazed that I wrote as much for it as I did. But the people in that fandom are super sweet and responsive, so it was easy to keep up my interest until that sequel. I also faded out on Wild Wild West for a while, but they started rerunning it on a station I get, so I started writing for it again. Cormoran Strike is a bit of an anomaly because the pairing is canon-ish (they're endgame right? right?) and I don't often write much for canon pairings, but I used to get a lot of prompts for it, and I do still love it, and the hiatuses between books/seasons are long. I have loved Thorne and Tom/Phil to an extent disproportionate to the material, and I still do. I've never had so many feels or started writing about them so quickly as I did with that series.
What are your top 2 most used additional tags, and your bottom 2?
Top Two:
Post-Canon (49)
Ficlet (44)
Bottom Two:
Fix-It (16)
Double Drabble (13)
What would happen if you combined all 4 of these into a fic?
Sounds pretty self-explanatory to me: a short post-canon fix-it fic. Although- interestingly- I don't typically put a "post-canon" tag on a fix-it. Post-canon is a tag I tend to use for fics set after the movie/show/book, where the characters have settled into whatever status quo happens to be common fanon, even if that means ignoring or undoing parts of the canon itself (i.e. Harry being alive and well in Kingsman fics post TSS). But undoing the canon is never the focus of the story the way it is in a fix-it, so to me they're separate phenomena.
If you exclude the less content-specific tags about length, point in canon, and relationship status you end up with First Kiss/First Time, Angst, Pining, and Unrequited Love, which sounds more like me.
How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don’t plan on finishing?
I don't have any WIPs running. I've posted only a few chapter fics, only one of which was being updated for more than week, and all are finished now. I do have a couple of incomplete series going, though. None end on a cliffhanger or anything like that, but since I thought to add more stories I consider them technically unfinished. I don't know if I'll go back to them or not.
Apologies for the hiatus! I had a crazy couple of weeks.
