Ask me my "Top Five" anything!

Saw this on my dash on tumblr and thought I'd bring it over here, if anyone wants to ask.

Top five Doctor Who plot twists?

Tough one.

1. Does centurion!Rory count as a plot twist? That arc is one of my favorites.
2. The new Master. I haven't watched all of the current season, and I haven't loved everything I have seen, but I loved that particular twist so much.
3. All the companions working together in "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End" was great, though not necessarily a twist. I especially loved Martha, Mickey and Jack going off together. I will sulk for the rest of my life about not getting an actual Torchwood S3 (not the travesty that was COE) with Martha and Mickey as replacements for Owen and Tosh. They could have actually built a relationship between those two instead of just going 'Hey, they got together' in Ten's last episode.
4. Canton Delaware's boyfriend/significant other. I spent that whole episode going 'I hope he wants to marry a man' and he did! Canton is one of my favorite one-off characters ever.
5. River being Amy and Rory's daughter. Moffat's payoffs aren't always as good as they could be, but that came together so well.

Many a good thing here :D But absolutely a big yes to what S3 of Torchwood should have been! That would have been so grand to have both Martha and Micky join the team. I would have loved that. I don't concider COE a travesty as I did think it was a good story, however scary and sad, but I do feel it ruined too much. I would much more have liked more seasons ala the first two than all the angst and heart-break that followed.

I agree that COE was well-made, but when a show's writers dismantle everything I ever loved about said show, I call it a travesty now matter how good it was.
