Goals Check-In

So far it's just been raining, no big storms yet. March here we come!

1) Get all my fic links and masterlists up to date here on DW Do an overhaul of my fic links and masterlists

Ngl I have not been prioritizing this.

2) Post here more often

I didn't post as regularly as I did in January, but I didn't disappear either, so *thumbs up*

3) Generally keep in touch better with friends

See above in terms of keeping in touch.

4) Post more stories on AO3 than I did in 2023. Since I only posted one, two would make this goal, but I'm hoping for more than that

I posted two Astrid ficlets (Let Love In and On Astraelle) which puts me at three fics for the year already! Hopefully I'll get something longer finished soon, but it's nice to be able to write, edit, and post something quick too. The spirit of femslash February got me, I guess.

5) Try to write at least 100 words at least 5 days a week Try to write at least 5 days a week

I did it! Some weeks I didn't take any days off while one week I took three days in a row, but overall I got in the time that I wanted. I wrote 2.3k, as well some additional typing and editing. Counting the typing and editing in my "writing days" definitely helped because I could go where the energy took me without feeling bad about it, and I ended up writing almost twice as much as I did last month. It still wasn't a lot, but I already knew the road back to productivity would be a long one.

6) Read more books

I read Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros and Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. I technically finished the latter this morning, but I'm counting it for February. I've also started A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon, which I picked up before Rivers of London, but paused because Rivers of London was borrowed and I didn't want it to sit around while I chipped away at a behemoth.

7) Put up a 2024 calendar. Also, remember to turn the page every month

I have turned the page!

Overall my February was all right but it did feel... absurdly long? Anyone else have that experience?

Good job! Glad you are not snowed in.

I like the Rivers of London series. I have read and/or listened to them all. I looked for Astrid but I don't have access to it (without $$$). I am glad you've found a series that inspires you.

I've also started A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon

Possibly not the best title to pick if your goal is to read more books [because that's a lot of pages]. :D Happy to read you enjoyed Rivers: I love that series, and I hope you'll be able to borrow the other books in the series too.
