Goals Check-In
Feb. 1st, 2024 06:08 amI plan to do monthly posts to check in about the goals I've set for myself this year and how it's going.
1) Get all my fic links and masterlists up to date here on DW
Yep, haven't done this. I have decided that I want to overhaul the way I do links and masterlists, which makes it more of a long-term project than a short-term one, but I will chip away at it. Maybe I'll be done by next year's snowflake challenge lol.
2) Post here more often
I posted pretty regularly last month. Let's see how I do this month without the framework of a challenge to hold me up.
3) Generally keep in touch better with friends
I've made a pretty good start on this, both here and offline, and met some cool new people as well!
4) Post more stories on AO3 than I did in 2023. Since I only posted one, two would make this goal, but I'm hoping for more than that
I posted my Raffles fic Right and Wrong, which means I'm halfway there, lol. Before my huge dry spell, I used to post something at least once a month. I'd like to get there again, but for the moment I'm not holding myself to that. We'll see what February brings.
5) Try to write at least 100 words at least 5 days a week, whether they end up posted anywhere or not
I wrote ~1,200 words in January, which is about half my goal, but part of that was finishing, editing, and posting a fic -- which is obviously what I've truly been struggling with lately. Thus I've waffled some about what my goals should really be, so I'm amending this.
My new goal is to try to write at least 5 days a week. Here writing will mean both words written and time spent editing, typing older handwritten work, doing worldbuilding, etc. I'll still keep track of my wordcount for February though, and we'll see how it goes.
6) Read more books
I read Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and I'm nearly finished with the sequel. It's progress!
7) Put up a 2024 calendar. Also, remember to turn the page every month
I actually decided to do this post at the beginning of a month instead of the end to facilitate turning said page before I posted, and... I did it!
How is everyone else doing so far in 2024?

I've been enjoying seeing you post so much <3

Date: 2024-02-05 09:06 am (UTC):D I selfishly hope you'll write more Raffles, but best of luck and inspiration for whichever fandom you decide on!

Date: 2024-02-05 04:18 pm (UTC)I do have a longer Raffles WIP that I'm hoping to get finished before too long, but I am very much at the whims of an unpredictable muse.

Date: 2024-02-24 06:56 pm (UTC)My 2024 has had a good start project-wise 😊 Already posted more fics over on AO3, unlike several previous years when I've only written fic for the Yuletide fic exchange, I've written and edited some non-fanfic projects, and I'm keeping good pace with my non-writing goals (getting caught up on games/podcasts/books/etc).
