I talked about making some new icons so my collection would better reflect my current interests back in January, and what do you know I'm still working on it.  I really like the cap of Raffles smiling that I worked with during the Snowflake Challenge, but I wasn't quite happy with the icon I made, so I kept fiddling.

The irony, of course, is that having learned some nice tricks to make things less beige (thanks firestorm717 for the levels tip, the 'set white point' tool in particular is a life saver), I ended up putting yellow and brown textures on it until it was... well... beige again.  I do like it, though I wonder if it doesn't still need...  something.   

I also made an icon for The Terror that I'm pleased with:

Idk.  Some things work for me right away.  Some things I poke for six months.

I tried doing some icons for this of round of hc_bingo.  These are for the wild card square.  I'm doing possession/mind control, though it's a slightly liberal interpretation.  The SIM cards count as mind control, right?

I'm still improving, but I like a few of them.

Since I figure making more of them is the best way to get better at making icons, I'm doing the musketeerstills challenges. This round is "favorite characters" and I did Athos, Porthos, Milady, Constance and Treville.  A couple of observations:

1) My God, Constance, can you not keep still?  I notice a lot of people seem to prefer making icons with promotional photos of her; possibly it's because it's so hard to make a screencap of her that isn't blurry.

2) Milady on the other hand is great to take screencaps of.  I ended up making like sooo many icons of her.  I made extra Porthos too.

3) Though I didn't mean for it to happen that way, the icons I'm thinking about posting make a rainbow.  I'm still deciding whether I should embrace the rainbow, or arrange them in a different order and hope no one notices.
