Title: Change of Season
Fandom: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Pairing/Characters: Julian Bashir/Elim Garak
Summary: A homecoming.
Rating: PG
Length: Very Short (408 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: Old ficlet I found that I never posted. Inspired by this prompt but kind of going in its own direction. Fills my 100fandoms table prompt #6 (home).
Excerpt:
In the capital, winter was on the way.  Still a bit warm by the standards Julian had grown up with, it had been getting truly cold to Cardassians for a while now.  Evolutionarily speaking, as a species they hadn’t hibernated for millennia, but they did get drowsy, even lazy, this time of year.  It spoke to how used to the climate he had become that when Julian landed he immediately felt a chill and a profound desire to remain indoors until the spring thaw.

Title: And After
Fandom: The Sisters Brothers
Pairing/Characters: John Morris/Hermann Kermit Warm
Summary: Maybe there is a better world, somewhere.
Rating: PG
Length: Very short (684 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: Includes canon character death.  Fills my [community profile] 100fandoms table prompt #20 (discover).  Ficlet for a movie I just saw to remind me that I can, in fact, finish a thing.
Excerpt:
He sat on a rock that overlooked the valley and said to himself, or maybe to the Hermann he couldn’t see- he wasn’t sure when thoughts he had always kept between himself and his notebook became thoughts for Hermann, but it was long before this, whatever this was, happened- “I do not believe I wanted to be your friend.”

Title: Season of Giving
Fandom: Kingsman
Pairing/Characters: Gazelle/Roxy Morton
Summary: An early Christmas present.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Very Short (547 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: Not Brit-picked.
Excerpt:
Roxy squirmed into a sitting position and opened the parcel, sliding her fingernail neatly underneath the bit of tape holding it shut. Gazelle, she suspected, would be a tearer in situations like this. It was very much how she was the rest of the time. Roxy had yet to convince her that there was sometimes more of a challenge in keeping things whole.

Fic: Hollow

Title: Hollow
Fandom: Sherlock
Pairing/Characters: Sally Donovan/Stella Hopkins
Summary: A strange case.
Rating: PG
Length: Very Short (465 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: I've been working on a fic based ACD/Granada’s Abbey Grange, and it made me think about a more modern interpretation of that case, and how it might have been handled by Sherlock’s version of Hopkins. This is the result. I don’t actually remember what case she really brought Sherlock in the show, so sorry if this ignores anything in canon.
Excerpt:
She had been watching Stella Hopkins for a while- from where she sat at the other end of the bar, and also in general. She knew Hopkins was trying to make a name for herself and figured that Sherlock Holmes could be a good way to do that; either she would come out the other side of it or she wouldn’t. Sally hoped it would be the former, obviously- but she saw hints of the latter in the speed at which Hopkins had been drinking all night.

Title: Ghosts
Fandom: Kingsman
Pairing/Characters: Eggsy Unwin/Harry Hart
Summary: Eggsy shows up at Harry's house.
Rating: G
Length: Very Short (836 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: Happy Halloween! This was inspired by a "there's a ghost in my house can I stay with you" prompt that I can't seem to find now. Not Brit-picked.
Excerpt: “I think my house is haunted,” was the first thing Eggsy said when Harry opened the door.

Title: A Pocket Full of Soul
Fandom: Kingsman
Pairing/Characters: Eggsy Unwin/Harry Hart + Daisy
Summary: Eggsy has something to ask Harry.
Rating: G
Length: Very short (584 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: The Kingsman sequel will be out a year from yesterday, so I thought I'd post a little something in honor of that. I'm not really sure how much of a time skip from the end of the movie is required for Eggsy's sister to be this articulate, so I'm leaving that as open as possible. The title comes from "Mirrors" by Justin Timberlake.  Not Brit-picked.
Excerpt: Eggsy scowled at his reflection, finding fault with everything about it. He was wearing his best suit, sure- but his hair was askew, his cheeks were flushed, and no matter what he tried he couldn’t get it to sound quite… right.

Title: What You Miss
Fandom: The Inspector Lynley Mysteries
Pairing/Characters: Barbara Havers/Thomas Lynley
Summary: A revelation.
Rating: G
Length: Very short (200 words)
Disclaimer: These characters aren't mine.
Notes/Warnings: This was written for the older_not_dead amnesty prompt "red cheeks from the chilled air."
Excerpt: He wondered if this happened to other people. If it was natural to spend so much time in the company of another person that you stopped seeing them- and then in a flash realize everything you had missed.

Title: Tea For Four
Fandom: Cabin Pressure
Pairing/Characters: Martin Crieff, Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock Holmes, Excelsior Black
Summary: Martin has tea with his siblings.
Rating: PG
Length: Very short (365 words)
Disclaimer: These characters don't belong to me- only the silly idea!
Notes/Warnings: This little vignette shouldn't be taken too seriously, and yes- it's sort of AU. I just wanted Mycroft, Sherlock, Martin and Colonel Black to all be siblings and I was willing to ignore whatever I had to ignore in order to make that happen. I do imply that Martin was raised by other people, so it's still loosely canon at least. It's set early in the Cabin Pressure timeline. As is necessary with three shows that all have such very different tones, I had to pick one. I rounded up to Clone-typical behavior, so this is only PG (or G) rated as much as Clone is. Nobody dies, but respect for human life is not high.
Excerpt: "You might let us charter your firm to fly his… people… somewhere one day. To give your colleagues… perspective.”

Martin thought about that. Excelsior was nothing if not a giver of perspective, and Martin did want to get paid once in a while. At minimum, he wanted to get the cheese tray to himself once in a while.

Title: Auld Lang Syne
Fandom: The Blacklist
Pairing/Characters: Elizabeth Keen/Raymond Reddington
Summary: Not one of Liz’s better ideas.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Very short (437 words)
Disclaimer: Just borrowing these characters.
Notes/Warnings: I’m not saying that Red is Liz’s father in this story or that I believe he is, but I’m not completely closing the door on it either, so if you need that extra cushion you might want to give this one a miss. Though I doubt many people reading will recognize it, I want to mention that this fic was inspired by a scene in the first episode of a show called The Big Valley. In it, a woman tries to prove that a man who claims to be her half brother isn’t by seducing him, based on the notion that he wouldn't kiss her if he really believed they were related. Anyway, my brain decided that this + The Blacklist would be magic. I wanted to get it off my chest before the series came back.
Excerpt: There was a moment where all Liz could do was ask herself if she was really doing this: playing incest chicken with a master criminal at the beginning of the new year. Did she think he’d hesitate at the last minute? Peck her awkwardly on the cheek against his character, who was meant to be deeply in love with his younger girlfriend? Did she intend to shout ‘aha!’ as soon as they were out of that room and force him to finally give her a straight answer?

Title: Nightscapes
Fandom: The Avengers
Pairing/Characters: Steve Rogers + Thor
Summary: Steve has trouble sleeping in the tower. He isn't the only one.
Rating: G
Length: Very short (565 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: Written as an [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo extra for insomnia and culture shock.
Excerpt: Everyone said he was integrating well, and for the most part Steve believed it- but sometimes he looked out the window and sketched what a part of him was still convinced was a set-piece from a science fiction film and he wasn’t sure he was integrating that well at all.

Title: Just a Cold
Fandom: Foyle's War
Pairing/Characters: Christopher Foyle/Sam Stewart
Summary: Sam gets sick.
Rating: G
Length: Very Short (564 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: Written for my hc_bingo square minor illness (my card is here).  I'd set it around S5 or 6.
Excerpt: “Worried about me?” She eyed him through half-open eyes, somehow sly. “'S just a cold.”

“Yes,” he said, ultimately to both. It certainly didn’t help that she looked so pale and weak. It brought to mind that time when she’d been truly ill- dying, even- and he hadn’t been sure he would be able to get the cure for her in time.

Title: Rolling Stone
Fandom: Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis
Pairing/Characters: Sam Carter/Vala Mal Doran
Summary: Sam on her way to Atlantis.
Rating: PG
Length: Very Short (912 words)
Disclaimer: These wonderful characters do not belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: Written for my hc_bingo square moving (my card is here).  This is set during the SGA episode where Sam is transferred to Atlantis, but it's been a while since I've seen it, so I apologize for any possible continuity problems. The title comes from "A Place Called Home" by Kim Richey.
Excerpt: “Won’t you miss all this?” Vala asked.

“I’d say it’s not another planet, but- you know- it is,” Sam reminded her. “The one thing that’ll stay pretty much the same is ‘all this.’”

Title: The Miracle Dog
Fandom: Agents of SHIELD (Marvel Cinematic Universe)/Longmire/The Walt Longmire Mysteries
Pairing/Characters: Buddy, Henry Standing Bear, Omar Rhoades, Walt Longmire
Summary: Apparently, the dog shouldn't really be alive.  But he is.
Rating: PG
Length: Very Short (388 words)
Disclaimer: None of the characters you might recognize are mine.
Notes/Warnings: Though I'm sure I recall Ward's camp being in Wyoming, I don't remember if the setting was any more specific than that, and thus have no idea how much geography I'm hand-waving for this crossover. It's just something I wanted to try. I'm also sort of straddling book and tv canons for Longmire, as I am apparently wont to do.  I really just wanted to save Buddy, you guys. So I did.
Excerpt: Walt eyed the vet. “Well, if nobody takes him when he’s well enough to go to the shelter, I suppose the sheriff’s department could find use for a canine officer.”

Pairing/Characters: Artemus Gordon/James West
Summary: Artie warms Jim up.
Rating: G
Length: Very Short (359 words)
Disclaimer: The Wild Wild West belongs to CBS and a lot of people who aren't me.
Notes/Warnings: This is the closest I've gotten to a drabble yet, if that's worth mentioning.
Excerpt: “Honestly, Jim,” he growled. “Are you constitutionally incapable of thinking things through?”
