Favorite female character
This one is tougher for me to pinpoint, so I'm picking a slightly controversial one from my top five: Claire Bennet, from Heroes.
So, I watched Heroes quite a while after it went off the air, and that was sad for me when I loved it and the fandom was basically gone- but when I found out that Claire was pretty widely hated, I was glad that I'd missed the buzz, because I'm pretty sure I would fight a duel over this girl. True, she made some pretty dumb decisions in S3- but seriously? Everyone turned stupid in S3, and only Claire had the excellent excuse of being a teenager at the time. She started out a scared, confused girl in a situation none of us can really fathom, and by the fourth season she'd grown into a resourceful, mature, and determined woman. She was the only one who handled Nathan's death and everything that happened with Sylar like a grownup, and her budding relationship with her friend Gretchen was lovely and full of potential.
Though Heroes redeemed itself for me general with S4- which I, for the most part, loved- I understand why it is widely held up as the golden standard of shows that went very downhill, and I understand why it was cancelled- but, if only for Claire, I wish it had gotten at least one more season. I wanted to know what was next for her and I still do.
