potentiality_26First of all, I'm not going to watch Gotham. This isn't an "I don't want to watch it, remind me to be strong guys" mention- I catch the end of it when I start Sleepy Hollow and I have no interest- I'm legit not watching. Hate DC. Hate prequels. No. Regarding things I wasn't going to watch but have, I watched Forever again and even went back and watched the episodes I'd missed. It's so been there, done that, not taking any risks or treading on any new ground but... God, he's so cute I can't look away. And it's just so pleasant.
Thus, my Tuesday nights look like this:
Selfie
Not much to say, other than that I still love the way this show is scripted. "You're not on Facebook? How do you know you from high school's gotten ugly? You just walking around not knowing who's ugly?" Perfect internet vernacular.
Agents of SHIELD
This was a solid episode, although I never cared about Donnie at all. He's annoying.
I've seen people on comms complaining that they saw the Simmons is a double agent thing coming right away, which strikes me as silly. I mean, what part of "I knew from the start that this character I loved and cared about wasn't a Nazi" is disappointing? That said, it is slightly upsetting to me that there's no opportunity for the team (especially Fitz) to maybe think she's Hydra for a while.
Also, am I the only one who kind of shipped her with Coulson in that scene where he was making her dinner? Yes? I'll shut up now. But it was cute. Really cute.
I really like the dynamic Fitz and Mac (I think that's his name) are developing. Cool if he gets a life outside Simmons.
Forever
Nothing much new to say, though I'm not enthused by all the flashbacks to imply that he had one love in his whole life. One thing I liked about Highlander was how broad and complex his history was. He knew and loved and outlived a lot of people but he never stopped caring; I loved that. Henry's relationship with Abe is sweet, though, and I generally love what good terms everyone is on with everyone else. The lack of tension makes it fun to watch. Even Jo's annoying partner isn't too antognistic.
But here's what's important: though I can't find a credit for the voice over the phone (Adam) anywhere, I am very sure it's Adrian Pasdar. If I know nothing in this world, I know the voice of Adrian Pasdar. I love him and everything, but he is not at all who I would have picked for a thousand some year old man. Still, I'd like to see him, preferably sans SHIELD mustache.
Also, because Netflix is so fabulous (*needs a sarcasm font or something*) here are some old shows I only just finished the latest seasons of:
Orphan Black
God, I love this show. I want it to be the template for the shows of the future. I love how this latest season added to the mythology of the series and I can't wait to see where it goes next.
I do have to ask: was I the only one surprised by Tony? TM was amazing as ever, and I like Tony a lot and want to see more of him, but personally I would have thought that being a man in a woman's body was more a nature thing than a nurture thing. I mean, because experiments like this aren't real we'll probably never know for sure, that's just what I would have thought. Anyone else have any thoughts on the subject?
The Hollow Crown
Not the best Shakespeare adaptation I've ever seen, but solid- and it's always cool to see the rare Henry IV. God, Tom Hiddleston is lovely.
The 100
Don't love this. Lots of immature characters squablling with each other in a bleak setting. It reminded me of Revolution which is never a good thing. That said, it grew on me somewhat before the end, and I did find myself caring what happened next to the people, so that's more than Revolution managed. I may watch the next season when it starts.
Netflix actually mailed me The Musketeers the day it got it, which is pretty unprecdented. Leather and historical inaccuracies here I come.
I haven't seen the new episodes of The Blacklist or Castle yet, but I should soon.
