So, when I was making icons regularly I used to have them hosted on photobucket, right?

Well, it must be several years ago now that photobucket decided it wasn't enough to just stick annoying watermarks on images from their free accounts, no, everyone had to have a paying account. And everyone was going to lose all their stuff if they didn't pay for an account. And I thought that was sad, but whatever, you know?

So now (again, I think years later), photobucket is sending me an email every couple of weeks asking me if I want my photos, and it's like... from the moment you told me that I had to pay you or lose them, those photos have been dead to me. And I guess I'd like them back, but not enough to dig up my password and go to your ad-riddled site to see whether or not you still expect me to pay for the privilege.

Anyway, I'm salty. Possibly my anger is rooted in other things.

Yeah, Photobucket has also sent me those emails too over the years. I keep thinking, "thanks but no thanks". I hadn't visited PB in years even before they ended up being this douchey. I could just go and delete my account, but I really don't want to go through all that trouble for an ad-riddled site. Fortunately a lot of what I had on there were things I still have on an old harddrive, so while it would be easier to simply log in and get the stuff I uploaded onto there before deleting the account for good it's just not worth the hassle, imho.

It just sucks that so many websites are putting things behind a paywall. *sigh*

Photobucket really crashed and burned hard with the choices they made about their site. I 100% sympathize with your frustration - them harassing people with e-mails too years after the fact is shitty behavior.
