In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme.

Only one??? Impossible! I love tropes, so it's a tough one.

I think Pining/Seemingly Unrequited Love is probably my favorite. Though I'll definitely give Established Relationship fics a go if they look interesting, getting into a character's headspace while they agonizingly long for someone they think couldn't possibly feel the same way is my jam.

A lot of the other tropes I love are, in a way, offshoots of my love for that one. I like pretty much all the #problematic relationship tropes - Enemies to Lovers, Age Difference, Incest - because they offer so many delicious reasons they shouldn't want to be together.

Then there's also Fake Dating, Bed Sharing, Trapped Together... all that good forced proximity while just yearning. 

And then of course Sex Pollen, Fuck or Die, Forced Marriage... where things might get even more intense while the feelings are still unresolved.

(So, one answer and many at the same time. What else is new?)

Having characters pining for each other in what they believe to be unrequited love is also something I like, as well, and when explored in different ways it can lead to some good crunchy angsty stuff. I'll try any flavor of this trope. The "pining while already together" is one that I've come across that I found to be really enjoyable. I discovered this through an arranged marriage/marriage of convenience fic and the way it was done just made me realize that I love the concept of characters who have to be convinced that they are worthy of being loved by someone who think could never, ever love them for who they are, because of the arrangement of the relationship. It really is about that headspace about them denying while pining, the self-loathing, the the acceptance of the love the other has for them.

So many tasty tasty tropes~! I too adore the "pining while fucking" kind of relationship 🖤🖤🖤🖤 When it comes to established relationship stories, I enjoy them best when the fic is about more than the relationship itself. I love case-fics, mystery-fics and heist-fics etc where the main characters are in a longterm, stable relationship, but a story that only focuses on how happily in love a ship is, usually doesn't grab me in the same way.

Do you have a fave trope that you haven't had the chance to write yourself yet?

Yeah, I agree with you re: established relationship stories.

Hmmm... I haven't actually written a pining while fucking fic yet, or arranged/forced marriage (the cousin, pining while married), which I also very much enjoy.

Childermass/Segundus arranged marriage WIP - Oooh, tell me more (if you want)!
I do very much want, thank you for asking! 💖 It's an canon divergent AU fic where Segundus is still (mostly) human but grew up at the Raven King's court in the fae realm. When magic begins to return to the human world, Segundus sneaks back into the human world to try and make sure no one gets hurt by meddling fae, because he's kind like that (and also very curious to see his land of birth). He ends up in a spot of trouble, Childermass is around and is decent enough to help Segundus out, completely unaware that Segundus isn't fully human at this point in his life. They go their separate ways, but one thing leads to another, and Segundus ends up summoned by Norrell, which sets off a chain reaction that accidentally (due to Norrell being prideful and not listening to Segundus advice on the fae At All) ends with Segundus and Childermass magically engaged for marriage 😁 The outline is fairly vague and a little old at this point, but I still hope to get it written one of these days.
