Ship you talked about with people in real life:

I've never had a lot of RL friends that I talk about fandom with, but I have one particularly close friend who likes a lot of the same shows and movies I like, but she's a very vanilla, 100% canon sort of shipper.  Anyway, back when I was really watching Supernatural, I turned her onto it.  It was S4 at the time, but it didn't take her very long to start getting caught up.  She liked Sam best and I liked Dean best, so already there wasn't a whole lot we agreed about.  And then she got up to S4, and we were talking, and she got quiet and finally said, "Have you ever noticed how Cas is... like... in love with Dean?"

And I said, "Um- yeah?"

She's never gone for a slash pairing since, but it was still a momentous day.  And also proof of how slashy Cas and Dean are/were (I haven't watched in years.  I don't know what's going on).

Oh, they are still slashy :D

I think I would see these two as slashy even if I didn't have slash-googeles on pretty much all the time. It's not a long stretch in my opinion to make it canon, not that will ever happen.

Ohhh, they are just...the eye-sex ALONE. In many ways, the slashy is REALLY up there because of time and familiarity. I just can't with them!

And this is frigging MARVELOUS, lol!! It may be the one and only time, but yeah - even SHE could see it! That's awesome. *BEAMS*

Ah yes, those two.

Back when I was involved in that fandom I shipped them like crazy. I stopped watching and haven't cared about that show for a long time, but from what I've seen on Tumblr they're still with the ~profound bond.

Me too. Personally, I stopped watching the show at the end of S5 because I still liked it, but I thought it wouldn't be too long before I didn't anymore, and everything I've seen since has made me glad of that decision. I still remember Cas/Dean fondly, though.

Yeah, I watched it through S6 and I got angrier and angrier with it. I stopped watching because I was no longer enjoying it, and I ceased being involved with the fandom because it was becoming too toxic of an environment. I think it was the best decision for me and my own mental health, tbh.

We'll always have the earlier seasons with them to remember fondly.

I've heard there are scary corners to the fandom. I've been lucky to avoid that.
