My shows

Okay, so, I've liked the last few episodes of my shows, but haven't had a lot to say recently, but I've had some thoughts perculating for a while about the main ones, so here we go:

Agents of SHIELD

I wasn't really going to say anything about this one, but I've heard that some people are hating on Mack because he's apparantly been rude to Simmons lately?  What?  a) when? and b) in the most recent episode, my reaction to her was kind of "bitch much?"  I like Simmons, but not to the point of lashing out at other characters who are calling her out on being unreasonable.  She's holding on to who Fitz used to be.  I get why and I don't blame her- neither does Mack.  He never knew Fitz before and it makes him better suited to be around Ftiz right now.  If he tells her that, he's just being true to what we knew about him already: that he doesn't dance around issues.

The Blacklist

I'd been a bit behind and I binged to get caught up to the finale.  Great episodes, especially the last one.  I will say that the Mombassa Cartel episode resolved in sort of a messy way and didn't make a whole lot of sense- the Dembe background was amazing and heartbreaking and just great, though.  I have to admit that though I like this show, I would be so much happier every week if it was just Red and Dembe going about their regular everyday business, with occaisional Mr. Kaplan to clean up.

Question: so, was it just implied by the narrative that the girl who turned out to be Berlin's daughter was Naomi's daughter, or was that a thing?  I know I thought she was Naomi's daughter, now I guess she wasn't and I'm trying to figure out when the two threads got crossed.  I will undoubtedly have to rewatch this season when it's over like I did the last one to get everything straight in my head.

Sleepy Hollow

Fine episodes lately, but I'm still not overjoyed with the general shape of the season.  I still don't really care about Hawley, I still don't get why he's getting so much screentime when Jenny and Irving are regulars now and I hardly ever see them.  That said, he and Crane did exchange some interesting looks.  I feel like someone got the "no white guys to ship Crane with" memo or something, which is... awkward to feel.  I'm not saying I'm not feeling OT3 potential with those two and Abbie, because I am, I'm just saying that it wasn't an addition I required.  Also, I'm getting ever more frustrated with how little use they put Katrina to as a character.  She's like this extra peice they know they want but aren't sure what to do with.

The succubus episode itself was fine, but they could definitely have used it in a deeper way- like SPN did that one time back when I still watched it. That was using the monster of the week to be revealing and interesting character-wise.

I only gripe because I love you, Sleepy Hollow.  You can do better.

I've been watching Forever and Castle too, but I don't have a whole lot to say about either of them.

Really?! Lashing out at Mack? I ADORE Mack. I also like that he called Simmons out on her shit. Think she spent too long with Hydra. It's not Mack's fault she no longer knows how to talk to Fitz. That's all her, really.

Hubby and I agree - if it was just Red and Dembe with the occasional Mr Kaplan thrown in, we'd be rather content as well, lol!!

Right? Katrina is...not well utilized. And I don't really need blondie. Rather see Irving and Jenny, really.

I adore him too. What can I say? Some corners of fandom are icky.

Heh. I will totally call him blondie from now on.
