I'm caught up with my main shows in time for the winter finales which is good, I'm already missing the hell out of The Blacklist which is bad, and I heard Selfie got canceled and that the rest of it will only be on Hulu which is just sad. It wasn't the best show in the world, and I'd gotten a bit behind, but I was definitely enjoying it.
Comments on my three big ones below. In general, I'm not overjoyed, so expect some criticism, but I do have some good things to say.
Agents of SHIELD
Okay, so mixed bag here. I love Skye (I know I'm in a minority here, but do not mess with her in my presence, she's my girl) and she got to be awesome and that's cool. Less cool is who has been in genuine mortal peril lately. First Trip, now Mack? It pisses me off. I mean, of the 'new' characters (I'm calling Trip new since he was a late addition in S1), I believe Hunter is the only regular. He's the one that someone decided I wanted to see every week and feel relatively secure that he was going to be okay, and yet out of Trip, Mack, Bobbi and him he is 100% the one I care about the least. I don't hate him or anything, I'm just saying that it's upsetting to me that the character I would be least sad to lose is the one I'm most sure I won't.
On the subject things I don't like, let's talk about Ward, who's a character I've always been willing to go either way with. Talk around the internets was that a redemption plotline is in the cards for him, and I can't help but ask where? Like, if they want me rooting for him to be a good guy again, they're going about it the wrong way. I'm rooting for my girl to shoot him. I can see where they have an opening for him to help, but that will not erase what a giant creep he's been.
Forever
Liked this episode, and I'm excited for more longterm plotline happenings to- uh- happen. I've loved Abe's characterization lately especially, and I'd like to see some more emotional situations for him in particular. That said, I generally like how not stressful this show is, and I hope it doesn't randomly decide to turn gritty.
Someday I will have proof, but for now I simply submit my theory for how this show has screwed with my mind: in the first two episodes, Adam or whatever his name is was absolutely Adrian Pasdar. The current guy, however, is not my love. It is my belief that they recast him and now, when Henry flashes back on previous conversations from earlier episodes, they recorded the new guy over him. If I could get the audio to compare right now I would, but I am very, very sure about this.
Sleepy Hollow
Good episode in general. I'm going to be so goddman mad if Irving is dead. That said, I'm holding my mad in reserve because I think he might actually be okay. If Henry is good now (possibly a big if), and he owns Irving's soul, there's probably something he could do. This might still work out.
I've warmed to Hawley somewhat, but I still don't love him as a regular feature.
Also the new season of The Musketeers is starting next month. *raptor noises*
