I'm sorry if this comes across as kind of a patting myself on the back post, I just can't help sharing.  My eyes have yet to return to their normal size.

I always knew intellectually that larger fandoms/pairings were where it was at, but damn.  My Kingsman fic (and which I dropped the ball on posting here but I'll fix that) is my fifth most read fic and my fourth most kudoed fic (kudo can be a verb, right?) and I posted it this time last night.

On a related subject, I always feel awkward about getting kind of general "I loved this fic it's really good" kind of comments, even though it's obviously great to hear.  Because a) they're really nice to get and I want to thank the person who made said comment, and b) I don't want them to think I just threw out a generic thank you because I did read what they said and I appreciated it, but c) what can I say, really, other than thank you?  "Yes, I rather enjoyed it myself"? It's a weird conundrum.

That's wonderful :D

Perhaps I should get around to watching this film today and dwell into fic by starting with yours? Sounds like a good plan for a Sunday.

:)

Oh please do! It's a really refreshing movie IMO and the main ship would be right up your alley.

Congrats! That's wonderful :D

I thought about writing for this fandom as well, but I think I feel too self-conscious...

I know how you feel about general comments. They are great indeed, but it's really difficult to come up with an answer that is not repetitive.

:)

I got a little self-conscious too because it's such a big fandom (and there are so many good writers in it), but I'm just too into it to keep it to myself.

I just think it's great that at least you reply! These days (and yes that does make me feel like an old lady, I'm just in my 30s but I've around fandom and fanfic since my teens!) it's bad enough that there is such a drop off in people leaving comments on stories, but I've also seen a disturbing trend in authors either not bothering to reply to comments, or when they do reply it's with snotty or snarky (or downright arrogant/dismissive) retorts, sometimes even lording it over the readers and it makes me so sad, because it even further curtails the whole beautiful back and forth community-building dialog that I love(d) so much about online fanfic *sighs 'kids these days!' sighs of woe!*

I do know what you mean though about how do you reply to the generic "loved this!" but I always tell myself, hey, at least they did more than click a like button (or not even that!) and so I'll try to sweeten the generic-ness of my reply with a "<3" or a fluff term of endearment like "thanks hon!" :D

Yeah, I always leave a reply, because it makes me so happy to get a nice comment and I like the person who left it to know that.
