Due South

The character I least understand: Hmmm... Maybe Inspector Thatcher? I didn't dislike her, but her motivations didn't always come together for me either
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Fraser and both Rays, Elaine and Frannie, Turnbull and anybody
The character who scares me the most: I can't think of anyone who scares me on this show
The character who is mostly like me: Hmm... maybe Elaine?
Hottest looks character: Fraser
One thing I dislike about my fave character: RayK isn't always as good about listening as he could be
One thing I like about my hated character: I can't really think of anyone I hate
A quote or scene that haunts me: The scene in the train station in "Victoria's Secret"
A death that left me indifferent: I can't think of anyone who died on this show other Bob Fraser, and I wouldn't say I don't care, but it's pretty important to the plot, so... *shrugs*
A character I wish died but didn’t: No one.
My ship that never sailed: Fraser/RayK, although I feel like it's almost canon, what with the sledding off into the sunset and all.

Firefly

The character I least understand: Probably Jayne
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Zoe and Wash, Zoe and Mal, Zoe and pretty much everyone, Kaylee and Inara, the whole crew to some extent
The character who scares me the most: The Operative
The character who is mostly like me: Probably Wash
Hottest looks character: Inara
One thing I dislike about my fave character: I would have liked Zoe to get more background and screen time.
One thing I like about my hated character: I'm not sure who this would be. I don't hate Jayne but I don't always like him, so maybe him? He's funny though, and it's cute when he cares and tries not to show it
A quote or scene that haunts me: That moment when in River's mind she was holding a branch and it was actually a gun really stuck in my mind.
A death that left me indifferent: Can't think of one
A character I wish died but didn’t: I can think of who I wish hadn't died (i.e. any of the major characters who did) but not the reverse
My ship that never sailed: the movie made me kind of ship Mal/River and that obviously never happened

Orange Is the New Black (bear in mind that I've seen the first two seasons and a little of S3, but not all of it)

The character I least understand: Piper confuses me sometimes
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Poussey and Taystee, Sophia and everyone, Boo and Pennsatucky's friendship (ish) that developed is really interesting to me
The character who scares me the most: Maybe Mendez? I actually find him sort of amusing at times, but how much I know that there are men like him does scare me
The character who is mostly like me: I can't think of one
Hottest looks character: Sophia
One thing I dislike about my fave character: I'm not really sure who my favorite is, but I'll go with Poussey. There isn't much I don't like about her, but I wish the show had committed more to her having feelings for Taystee, it's like it was just there and then gone
One thing I like about my hated character: Again, I find Mendez funny at times, he's just... so awful
A quote or scene that haunts me: When Rosa drove away in the van (I found her arc in general very moving and that scene really stuck with me)
A death that left me indifferent: I wasn't exactly heartbroken when Vee died
A character I wish died but didn’t: I can't think of a single male character on this show that I would be sorry to lose
My ship that never sailed: I don't really have a ship in this show

Robin Hood

The character I least understand: Probably Guy. I watched the show for Richard Armitage and I do love him so, but I don't always know what Guy is doing
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Guy and pretty much everyone, Robin and Much, Djaq and pretty much everyone
The character who scares me the most: Maybe the Sheriff? He's funny but he can be scary
The character who is mostly like me: Maybe Much?
Hottest looks character: Guy
One thing I dislike about my fave character: Guy is unpredictable and temperamental, sometimes I'm annoyed with myself for being so attached to him
One thing I like about my hated character: I'm not sure I hate anyone but I never much liked Kate, she was a very inconsistent character, but she was tough and I wanted to like her
A quote or scene that haunts me: Marian's death. It's been a while and I'm still mad
A death that left me indifferent: I wasn't super sad when Marian's father died
A character I wish died but didn’t: I can't think of one
My ship that never sailed: Guy/Marian (or Guy/Robin or Guy/Marian/Robin)

Angel/Buffy the Vampire Slayer (this is going to lean more towards Angel, since I watched all of it and only bits and pieces of Buffy)

The character I least understand: Kate, in that I wish I knew what happened to her after she just wasn't on the show anymore
Interactions I enjoyed the most: All of the Angel investigations group- Angel and Cordy and Wes and Gunn- and Buffy and Giles.
The character who scares me the most: Angelus, maybe? The whole concept of Angel's curse is pretty scary
The character who is mostly like me: Fred, a little bit
Hottest looks character: Faith, Gwen
One thing I dislike about my fave character: Illyria is probably my favorite, and I wish having her around hadn't meant losing Fred. If she could have still been in there somehow it would have been great
One thing I like about my hated character: I really never liked Conner but it was an interesting plotline
A quote or scene that haunts me: Fred's whole death episode, but especially that moment when Lorne hears her sing right before she first gets sick
A death that left me indifferent: I can't think of one
A character I wish died but didn’t: There's a guy on Buffy I'm thinking of but I don't remember his name (or if he did or didn't die on the show)
My ship that never sailed: Buffy/Faith or Gunn/Wes or Angel/Spike, also I wish Tara and Willow could have had a happy ending

Piper confuses me sometimes

She's probably my least favorite character. I much prefer the rest of the supporting cast than her story and the back and forth of Piper and Alex.

Probably Guy. I watched the show for Richard Armitage and I do love him so, but I don't always know what Guy is doing

This is mostly due to the inconsistent writing throughout the entire show, since I don't even think Richard himself quite understood what they were trying to do with Guy and did the best he could with what he was given.

I'm not sure I hate anyone but I never much liked Kate, she was a very inconsistent character

Almost everyone hated Kate, and with good reason. She was just an awful character only created to fill the void that was Marion and Djaq (who they basically wrote out of the show entirely, for whatever reason). Ultimately, Kate served no purpose to anything in the third season, became more of a damsel in distress that made dumb decisions than a decent fighter among outlaws, and her inconsistency as a character was super annoying.

Angelus, maybe? The whole concept of Angel's curse is pretty scary

Angelus was definitely terrifying. Have you seen the second season of BTVS? Because that was pretty much the height of how scary Angelus was, how he likes to slowly torment his victims.

(Although I always found it interesting that Angelus was different from Angel, and both Angelus and Angel were very different from Liam.)

There's a guy on Buffy I'm thinking of but I don't remember his name (or if he did or didn't die on the show)

lol, you have to be a little more specific, since there are many guys on the show. Which season? Was she dating this guy?

Yeah, Piper is probably my least favorite character too.

You're right that Richard Armitage was just doing his best with what he was given. He managed to sell it, mostly, but sometimes the things Guy did were just inexplicable.

I watched some of Buffy S2, but it was a long time ago and I only remember it a little, but the Angelus parts were certainly interesting.

I don't think she was dating him but he might have had a thing for her? I think it was during the later seasons. I know he was kind of a nerdy type but I don't remember much else.

The character I least understand: Ressler, I guess. I feel like they intended him to be the boy scout, really-good-guy foil to everyone else, and they've been playing that up this season but... he's already too morally compromised for it to work, so it's just sort of confusing
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Red and pretty much everyone but especially Dembe, Mr. Kaplan and pretty much everyone, Aram and, again, pretty much everyone
The character who scares me the most: Solomon
The character who is mostly like me: Maybe Aram, but not a whole lot
Hottest looks character: Hmmm... Tom?
One thing I dislike about my fave character: I think Dembe is actually my favorite right now and there is nothing I dislike about Dembe
One thing I like about my hated character: I do enjoy Ressler's interactions with the other character sometimes, especially Cooper
A quote or scene that haunts me: I'm still upset about Meera dying
A death that left me indifferent: I can't think of one
A character I wish died but didn’t: I wouldn't be sorry to lose Ressler. I don't want him to die, but if someone has to be dead I'd prefer it to be him
My ship that never sailed: I'm still not sure who I ship in this show

The character I least understand: Vision, I guess. His motivations in the movie don't make quite as much sense to me as everyone else's
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Bucky and Sam, T'Challa and Natasha, Clint and Natasha, Wanda and Vision
The character who scares me the most: Ross, I guess
The character who is mostly like me: I really don't know
Hottest looks character: Steve, Wanda
One thing I dislike about my fave character: For a Captain America movie, Steve didn't get much of an arc
One thing I like about my hated character: Ross works as an antagonist who isn't an entirely bad guy, I guess, I really don't like him
A quote or scene that haunts me: I found Wanda's reaction to the building explosion at the beginning really affecting, it's something that's been missing in superhero movies for a while
A death that left me indifferent: I appreciated how seriously death was handled in this movie, so none
A character I wish died but didn’t: I wouldn't have been sorry if Ross died, but I don't mind that he didn't
My ship that never sailed: I wasn't too into Sharon/Steve (especially the way it was handled in the film), so anything that wasn't that would have made me happier

The Musketeers

From: [identity profile] potentiality-26.livejournal.com
I haven't seen the new season yet (I don't know if you have, I just thought I'd mention that)

The character I least understand: Rochefort, I think. He confused me a bit as a bad guy
Interactions I enjoyed the most: All the Musketeers together, Athos and Milady, especially in S2, Constance and Anne
The character who scares me the most: Also Rochefort
The character who is mostly like me: Constance, I think
Hottest looks character: Aramis
One thing I dislike about my fave character: Athos can be pretty mopey
One thing I like about my hated character: I found Rochefort's interactions with Porthos pretty interesting
A quote or scene that haunts me: All the happy Athos/Milady flashbacks really get to me
A death that left me indifferent: Can't think of one
A character I wish died but didn’t: I wish Richelieu hadn't died, I missed him a lot in S2, but I can't think of anyone the other way around
My ship that never sailed: Aramis/Athos/Porthos or Athos/d'Artagnan

MCU

The character I least understand: Sharon, I guess. They really haven't done anything with her as a character
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Steve and Bucky, Steve and Sam, Clint and Natasha, Nick and Phil, Tony and Jarvis
The character who scares me the most: Probably Red Skull
The character who is mostly like me: Darcy? A bit?
Hottest looks character: Natasha, Steve, Sam
One thing I dislike about my fave character: Steve can be stubborn
One thing I like about my hated character: The only characters I actually hate are the bad guys, and it's hard to find anything to like about most of them
A quote or scene that haunts me: I'm still not over Jarvis "dying" in Age of Ultron
A death that left me indifferent: I can't think of one
A character I wish died but didn’t: I actually like Loki, but at this point I wish he would really die instead of just fake dying and then showing up again immediately
My ship that never sailed: Bucky/Steve or Bucky/Sam/Steve (which I hoped they would at least not squash as hard as they did in Civil War) or Clint/Phil

Warehouse 13

The character I least understand: Myka and Pete in the final season, in which they lost their minds
Interactions I enjoyed the most: The whole team, but especially Claudia and Steve, and of course Myka and H.G.
The character who scares me the most: MacPherson did I suppose
The character who is mostly like me: Maybe Steve
Hottest looks character: Myka
One thing I dislike about my fave character: I guess H.G. is my favorite, and other than wishing she was around more I can't think of anything
One thing I like about my hated character: I can't think of anyone I hate
A quote or scene that haunts me: Steve's death, I suppose; the scene where they found him was really painful
A death that left me indifferent: I don't think there was one
A character I wish died but didn’t: No one
My ship that never sailed: Pretty sure Myka and H.G. did end up together, any Myka/Pete stuff was just a weird dream we all had

DS9

The character I least understand: Ezri- but in the sense that I wish we'd had more time to get to know her. I initially really disliked her for replacing Jadzia, but on later rewatches she grew on me and I wish they'd been able to spend more time developing her
Interactions I enjoyed the most: Sisko and Jadzia, Garak and Bashir, and Kira and Odo were my favorites, but I love all the different dynamics on this show
The character who scares me the most: Dukat
The character who is mostly like me: I think Nog
Hottest looks character: Jadzia
One thing I dislike about my fave character: I sometimes wish Garak had been a regular instead of a recurring character, but other times I know it worked best how it was, so... I'm not sure
One thing I like about my hated character: Dukat is charming and funny, but that's part of what makes him so awful
A quote or scene that haunts me: I think a lot about the episode where they tried to convince Kira that she was actually a Cardassian. The way she looked at herself in the mirror really stuck with me
A death that left me indifferent: I can't think of one
A character I wish died but didn’t: I wouldn't have minded if Dukat died earlier, but I can't think of anyone else
My ship that never sailed: Garak/Bashir, obviously, it's a crime that they never actually made it canon

Date: 2016-05-23 07:20 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] megan-moonlight.livejournal.com
Steve can be stubborn
True. Though a lot of MCU characters seem to be stubborn XD

I'm still not over Jarvis "dying" in Age of Ultron
Me, too. Maybe it would be easier for me if Vision got more of actual development, but... I really, really miss Jarvis.

The whole team, but especially Claudia and Steve, and of course Myka and H.G.
I loved all the friendships in this show, but Claudia and Steve, and Myka and H.G. are my favourites, too.
And yay for Myka/H.G.!

I agree about Ezri.

Garak/Bashir, obviously, it's a crime that they never actually made it canon
That's very, very true.

Date: 2016-05-23 07:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] potentiality-26.livejournal.com
YEP, they're stubborn all right. I did enjoy Civil War and everything, but it's frustrating how much of it wouldn't have happened if everyone had taken a breath and tried to talk it out instead of planting their feet on a issue and not budging.

Vision having more development would help so much! I've always had a thing for characters who somehow become other characters. I love seeing how they're different and how they aren't and what it's like to have the memories of a whole existence but be... something else now. If they spent more time on what it's like for a Vision and maybe built up his relationship with Tony a bit more, I would be so there for it- but as it is Vision hasn't been developed very much and I just miss Jarvis so much.

Date: 2016-05-23 08:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] megan-moonlight.livejournal.com
Yup. Just imagine, if, for instance, Natasha and Sam were the "leaders," I think they would actually manage to talk about things a bit before everything escalated.

I realize that it's difficult to give everyone screentime when so many characters appear in a movie, but considering how important Vision's appearance was in AoU, I hoped he'd have more screentime in Civil War. As you said, it would have been great to see some built up of his and Tony's relationship.

Date: 2016-05-23 08:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] potentiality-26.livejournal.com
Yes, that's so true. Both of them would have been a lot more willing to compromise/see other points of view.

Totally. I understand why they couldn't build everyone up much, it's just that Vision has so much potential and complexity that it's more noticeable when he's just there than it is with the others.
