My thoughts on The Blacklist finale, at last.

This episode- and all the latest ones- reinforced why I like the characters I really like- Mr. Kaplan, Cooper, Samar, Aram and Dembe- and why I'm sort of blah about Ressler- dude, you lost your oh-so-high moral ground back in a season one, stop acting like you're a saint- and why I always warm back up to Tom whenever I get tired of him.  Red... I love Red, but he has been pretty unreasonable lately and I hope that between Mr. Kaplan and Dembe they can get him to see the light.

On that note, I liked the way the twist with Liz being alive was handled.  Like a lot of people I'd at least partially called what happened, but that didn't take anything away from the reveal for me.  I also like the idea that Kirk is Liz's father.  I'd really like some clarity on all the mysteries swirling around the show and this is a big one, so I hope it doesn't turn out to not be true.

Though I was happy when Scottie didn't turn out to be Liz's mother, I was really thrown by the idea that she's Tom's.  I'm curious if anyone has figured out an explanation for that other than "it's a giant coincidence" because I can't see what else it could be.

All in all, I enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next season and more answers, which assumedly is exactly the effect the writers were going for.

Also I'd like to take this time to reccomend Crossing Lines to anyone looking for something new to watch.  I'm almost done with S2 and I've heard the quality really drops in S3, but I've loved the first two seasons.  It isn't a perfect show, but it's a crime series that's actually very innovative, the characters are great, and for someone as weak for team-as-family tropes as I am it really hits all my buttons all the time.

I have totally forgotten to comment! Sorry!

I so very much agree about Ressler - at this point I'm just meh about him!

I started disliking Tom, again, this season, but then I started liking him again. And really this has been the case with Tom since season 1. Liking - disliking - liking! I just roll with it at this point :D :D I am curious about Scottie being his mother as well, it does seem like a big and random coincidence, a little out of the blue. I can't imagine they would make that reveal without having it mean something for the plot down the line.

I've seen Crossing Lines on netflix and I've thought about maybe checking it out.

Yeah, I'm hoping they come up with a really cool explanation for her being Tom's mother, but I don't know what it could be.

You should check it out if you get a chance! I'd love someone to talk about it with.
