It was generally awesome and I don't want to go on and on, so I'm just going to focus on the amazingly gusty thing they did at the end. Lizzie point blank asked Red if he was her father!!! What amazes me about this is how it takes all the punch out of what people had been speculating would be their big endgame surprise. I'm pretty sure now that he isn't her father. Not because he says he isn't- I can't imagine a situation wherein Red would've said yes to that question if it was true- but for another reason.
What makes me think he isn't that by having Lizzie ask him the way she did, the writers were implicitly saying that that was something that would've been okay with Lizzie in that moment. In fact, the way she asked it made it sound like she almost hoped he was. Now, when I somewhat unenthusiastically imagined Red turning out to be her father, I imagined soap-opera drama and bitterness and everything that that little exchange wasn't. Whatever secret Red has been killing people to protect, it isn't that one. That secret- the scene implied to me- would have been small potatoes. Whether the possibility that he is her father is still somewhere on the table or not, there is something much bigger going on with her background.
Also, I saw the Sleepy Hollow promos. More John Noble! *does an embarrassing little dance*
