Snowflake Challenge #1
Jan. 1st, 2024 08:41 amHappy New Year!

So my old welcome post is a) no longer at the top of my page because the "far" future date I had set it to back in the day was 2020, and b) kind of a hot mess. I plan to redo it completely, so it's more than I can do today. Consider this my resolution to do it this month if I can.
But I have now updated the bio and interests in my DW profile. I've also gotten started on making posts for the fics I have up on AO3 that I'd neglected to link here.
So... done(ish)!

Date: 2024-01-05 11:26 am (UTC)Oooh, Dimension 20~! You're in for a treat 😊 I haven't seen all of the campaigns, but the ones I have I adore. You can watch most of them in any order, except of course for the ones with sequel/prequels (i.e. Fantasy High, The Unsleeping City and A Crown of Candy/The Ravening War).
My absolute favorite thus far has been A Court of Fey and Flowers. It's basically the Feywilds version of Pride and Prejudice with a heavy dash of Bridgerton. I can't exactly tell you why I adore it so without spoiling several twists along the way, but if Regency era romance shenanigans mixed with mystery solving and people with conflicting loyalties having to Deal With That is your thing, I highly recommend it!
I also dearly love their Lord of the Rings parody Escape from the Bloodkeep. It's all about affably evil villains sort of saving the day with the power of evil friendship 😆 I remember it took me a while to get into that one, but about halfway through I was seriously invested in this foul group of friends 💖
Mentopolis is a puntastic take on "What if Inside Out was a noir story?", as well as an interesting murder mystery and a heart-warming tale all throughout. And I'm currently working my way through Burrow's End, which is basically Watership Down meets Annihilation and is just as dark and full of body horror as you can imagine, but it still has its lighter moments and great family relationships between the characters (also, Brennan Lee Mulligan basically plays Mrs. Brisby from The Secret of NIMH in stoat form and is killing it!).
So those are the D20s I know I can recommend, but I highly suspect that they're all super fun, so go with what catches your eye 😊 And if you enjoy meta, you should definitely check out the "Adventure Party" episodes where the players discuss what's happened in each episode!

Date: 2024-01-15 12:41 am (UTC)Leiland/Marcus definitely had potential. I lol'd at Leiland's reaction to the mask coming off.

Date: 2024-01-16 09:36 pm (UTC)Oh yeah, Leiland/Marcus is absolutely a ship I'm down with - did you see what Marcus' player wrote on Twitter in response to the question "What's Marcus doing now, post campaign?"
