What I've Been Watching

Recently I've watched Tracker and S5 of Discovery (three guesses what streaming service I'm on right now, lol). I'm glad Tracker got picked up for another season; it was enjoyable and very refreshing in a sea of police procedurals.

Discovery was a bit.. meh, for me. I do love the characters, but I think they went too hard on the "look how far we've come" angle for the final season, and it rang hollow when the show clearly wanted so badly to pretend it's first season didn't exist. They lost a part of me in "What's Past is Prologue" that they never got back, I fear.

Always a joy to see CKR, though. And may I say he's aging like a fine wine.

I also finished Hawaii Five-0 (late to the party, I know). Is the ship name McDanno? Anyway, I have to say, I've never seen two male leads manage to tick more of the classic slash ship boxes while simultaneously convincing me that there's no way these two men could know each other carnally. But if anyone has fic recs send them my way. I'd love to "get" it.

I liked Discovery when I watched, but I haven't seen in in a good while and I am not sure how many seasons I am behind. I did have the thought to catch up this summer and then not keep the account at the streaming site. I do want to watch all of it.

I also did watch Hawaii Five-O, but I never finsihed it and I don't feel a need to. And McDanno certainly tics boxes, and I could see it! I do have some fics I can share. I will send you a PM later. :)

I've only seen the earlier seasons of Hawaii Five-0 (I remember I got hooked on it when the first season was still airing) and hadn't really caught up on it, it's one of those shows that I enjoyed what I saw but I kinda drifted off from it due to other things. Steven and Danny had such a dynamic that definitely ticked all the boxes, and I definitely shipped them. I didn't read much fanfic for them, though, so I can't really help you on that, but there are just some ships that you can just go, "well I see it but it's not something I'm actively invested in" which is totally fine.

That show, at least from what I saw of it before stopping, was very fun and entertaining. The ensemble cast was create, I liked the dynamic of Danny and Steve, obviously, but I also really loved Kono and Chin.
