Captain America and Agents of SHIELD

potentiality_26I saw Captain America: the Winter Soldier over the weekend, but I thought I'd withhold commenting until I saw Agents of SHIELD this week. I liked Captain America (he's my favorite Avenger, BTW) a lot, but I don't have much to say other than that it gave me all the Steve/Bucky feels, and I may actually be driven to write some fic on the subject.
About Agents of SHIELD, though... (here there be head-scratching and speculation; feel free to steer clear)
First of all, I thought the tie-in to Captain America was pretty solid, although anyone who saw it without seeing Captain America yet was probably boggling like you wouldn't believe.
Second of all, I had a thing for Ward/Skye from the first, and if I liked it before, I have no words for how much more I will probably like it now that he's suddenly evil. Conflicted-bad-guy-loves-good-girl is my jam from way back.
That said- do we really think he's evil? I mean, from the moment he volunteered to go at the end, I knew he was gonna shoot the others and save Garret- I knew it. But that doesn't necessarily mean he really did it. That might have been staged for Hydra's benefit (and yes, I have surprised myself a little with how much I want Agent Hand not to be dead, but I digress). Because Garret seemed genuinely surprised that Ward saved him, which to me suggests that he wasn't already part of the organization. On the one hand, I think it would be pretty damn gutsy of them to make a major character, in whom we have an emotional investment, a villain (indeed, it seems a little odd that, with good SHIELD agents dropping like flies and bad ones cropping up all over, none of them would be); on the other, one would think that what remains of SHIELD would be smart enough to get someone inside Hydra for a change- because they're really gonna need that.
