I don't think I'm actively trying to see all of the last year's Best Picture Nominees, but I've seen quite a few now.  Mainly, I'm wondering what's wrong with movies that have a beginning, a middle, and an end in that order, because all the ones I've seen so far haven't.  I mean, sometimes non-linear story telling is cool, but it gets old when everyone is doing it.

Eeep!! Didn't notice that as a trend...O_o Then again, I haven't really paid that much attention either.

I didn't notice until I did, and then I sort of eye-rolled. Maybe it seems more like trend then it is because I don't watch movies all that often, and then suddenly all the ones I did were structured with the middle at the beginning.

Was it at all good? My mum wants to see it, as she remembers when the actual scandal was going on, and I can ignore Jeremy Renner's hair in favour of his thighs.

Meh. It's certainly not bad. If you see it, I don't think you'll feel it was two hours wasted, I just didn't think it was great. And Jeremy Renner is in the wrong outfit to be appreciated properly (if he was in his Hawkeye costume, the hair would be easier to ignore, is what I'm saying).
