Couple you shipped only after a long time:

Well, a long time is relative, but I'd say maybe Amy/Rory on Doctor Who.  See, in the beginning, it was all Amy and Eleven besties/almost shippiness, and it seemed like Rory was just going to be Mickey Smith all over again.  But then, from "Amy's Choice" on he absolutely wasn't.  Rory turned out to be such an amazing man, and he and Amy had such a beautiful marriage- I love them, but I think it took until Rory stopped having doubts for me to stop having doubts.

And then they broke my heart a bunch of times, but whatever.  It's Doctor Who.  That happens.

Love this answer...I adored Rory from the start (and hoped he wouldn't be Mickey all over again) and Moffat only made it BETTER.

I liked him right away, but I was scared to get attached because he didn't seem like he was going to be... important, I guess? And then he had such an amazing character arc. I love him.
