I guess I can get S3 as it airs for $15 dollars in standard definition rather than HD, which kind of boggles the mind.  I mean, $10 extra for better definition?  Really?  I was looking it up to check that SD vs. HD was what I thought it was, and people were saying how SD would look how my TV looked before HD, which sent me down a lovely little nostalgia trail.

You guys remember the days before digital TV?  You know what annoys me about TV now?  (And yeah, I don't have cable so my experience may not be that of the general population)  There's either good reception, or no reception.  There was a time when if I wanted to watch my show come hell or high water, I could do that.  Even if it was completely snow and I could only just hear the voices, I could watch that station if I wanted to.  I miss that.

I'm still not sure if I'm gonna pay that $15 dollars (I could do, I got a gift card a while back that will cover it) but it's cool to have worked down from $25.

I know I'm a real rarity about my viewing. I have not had broadcast TV at all since the switch to HD. Everything I watch is from a DVD or a download to my laptop.

Yeah- I get you, though. For a while I didn't have broadcast either, but the TV died and I got a new TV, and that one came with a digital antenna and so forth.

Ah, you understand then. And some day I'll get a new TV like that with the HD...because it's the only kind out there now. *haz moment of TV nostalgia*

This is one of the reasons I'm glad I don't have cable anymore. When I watch TV I can usually stream, have fewer commercials and less problems with the vid-files. I do remember the days of rabbit ears and...at leas the channels CAME IN somehow. *Hands*

Think it might be better in SD anyhow. Some programs just ARE.

*HUGS*

I mostly stream too at this point- but it's funny to me that TV is supposedly better now, and yet so much harder to watch.

SD might just be better. But even if it's worse, that's an awful lot extra for the "HD experience." Just thinking about it brings out a sort of "These kids today don't know from bad quality" side of me.
