*flails*
Mainly, I want to say that I haven't seen any kind of promo for Agents of SHIELD yet, which is weird. I haven't gone looking for promos, but usually I'll catch one watching Jeopardy or something, but so far nada. What's up with that?
I watched the Selfie pilot and I'm looking forward to that show. It captures the cadance of internet speech in very cool way, and I find the premise- kind of a reversed My Fair Lady- quite interesting.
Of course, I'm most excited for Sleepy Hollow and The Blacklist. In fact, I rewatched S1 of The Blacklist in preperation, and I'd definitely recommend that to anyone who can. I didn't notice a lot that I hadn't before, but it does come together in a really cool way when you know what to look for. I do have an observation, though:
I was really hoping to get my is Red supposed to be Lizzie's father or not thoughts together completely, but the fact is I still don't know. On the one hand, the he's using a kind of Obi-Wan Kenobi logic "I abandoned you as a child and became a different man, therefore I am not your father" theory actually holds water, as much as it pains me to say it. However, if he is her father, Lizzie will find out the truth eventually, and I doubt it's a distinction that she will appreciate, so he has to know that he will lose all his "I never lied to you" cred if that is the case. On the other hand, there are a lot of little details that just don't go with that theory. Red's daughter would have been old enough to remember him, and in general the flashbacks to the fire make Lizzie seem like she was very young, whereas Red's daughter struck me as a bit older. Lizzie's childhood home obviously burned down, but Red visited the house he raised his daughter in. Then there's the fact that a gazillion people- from Berlin to the FBI- have been trying to find out what connection Lizzie has to Red. Am I honestly supposed to believe that none of them tried a DNA test? Really?
Also, at this point it will be the least surprising "twist" in history, and it would be much more interesting if something else had happened. I like the idea that he saved her and has been sort of transferring his protective instincts for the daughter he couldn't save onto her.
We shall see.

Date: 2014-09-20 03:08 pm (UTC)Question: did Tom seem more like a bad guy from the get go on your re-watch or did him playing innocent continue to seem true?
I'm looking the most forward to Supernatural, Arrow, Sleepy Hollow, Grimm, Lewis and The Blacklist. I have high expetations for all of those and I'm really looking forward to see how they continue off from last seasons. I think there's much greatness awaiting!

Date: 2014-09-21 06:50 pm (UTC)Right when you're reeling after the realization that he's a bad guy- the same way Lizzie is- everything he does has a really creepy vibe to it. But with the distance of seeing it coming all through the show, I realized that he actually still seemed like a perfectly nice guy- so, as I see it, Tom is meant to be just that good at playing innocent.

Date: 2014-09-22 04:10 pm (UTC)I can't wait to learn more about Tom and Berin (along with everything else) and it will be interested to see what happens next and how he will act. He did seem the absolute innocense!

Date: 2014-09-20 05:46 pm (UTC)Looking forward to Selfie, which is odd as I normally do not 'do' programs like that...but it is funny, witty and has a good cast.
THIS. And that is a sound theory. I believe his daughter and Lizze knew each other and having lost one, he vowed to watch over the other. Lizzie seems a bit younger than his daughter would have been at this point. And yes, he walked into his family slaughtered. House still there. Lizzie remembers (vaguely) her father, but she remembers Sam more clearly. And she remembers Red not at all...very curious, all of it.
These shows, pretty much. Well, SHIELD, OUaT, Blacklist, Sleepy Hollow and the ending of White Collar...

Date: 2014-09-21 06:54 pm (UTC)I don't normally watch shows like Selfie either, but I just love Karen Gillian and John Cho so much, and it's an interesting premise.
I think I'm going to wait and bank some episodes of OUAT before diving in. It's gotten less and less episodic as the seasons have gone on, and shows like that I prefer to marathon than watch as they air. As for White Collar, I have to wait for the DVD for that one.

Date: 2014-09-22 08:11 pm (UTC)I'm looking forward to Selfie too. It's the same creator as Suburgatory and that show was *so* on pointe - loved it.
THE BLACKLIST!! I'M SO EXCITED ITS BACK TONIGHT. I thought at one point it wasn't coming back until February bc of Spader's Avengers filming schedule. Super glad it's not waiting that long though.
I think Red is the man that killed her father. He set fire to the house and then realized she was in there. He probably has a rule against killing children; she was an innocent so he ran in and saved her. And he's watched over her her entire life and loves her like a father. I think it'll be the most dramatic solution. Like Liz loves him like a father but think of the angst when she discovers he's the reason her parents are dead. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA.

Date: 2014-09-22 08:36 pm (UTC)I've definitely suspected before that Red set the fire, so I think you're on to something. And of course they wouldn't be Red and Lizzie without her "I'm actually kind of fond of you- no wait, I'm mad at you" roller coaster.
