I really loved both of them and I'm pretty pumped!
Gosh, that was crazy and awesome and crazy. I liked how much gusto clearly went into it and I think it'll make for a really entertaining series. Ichabod has this whole Commodore Norrington in the later POTC movies thing going on that was great, and his commentary on the modern world (though never exactly deep) was very apt ("That is also a Starbucks?") I like Abby a lot and the production values were great- but I was a little lost as to what exactly happened. I mean, they don't want the Horseman to get his head- but where are they going to hide it that's better than where it was? Maybe the next episode answers that question. I did love the whole bit with Ichabod cradling the head in the jar and hiding while she draws out and shoots at the horseman.
Also, I'm not sure what it is about them, but the four white trees genuinely freaked me out.
Also very entertaining. Somewhat higher brow than Sleepy Hollow, but anyway. Spader is as cool as everyone says (am I crazy, or is he getting hotter as he ages? I was never a fan when he was young, but boy oh boy...) and I like the actress playing Liz a lot. I think I'm pretty well hooked, although I'm a little boggled by all the "Red must be her father" talk going around the internet. I believe they have a history that she doesn't know about, but she knew her father and she knows the story of him abandoning his wife and daughter. If they were one and the same she'd know it, right?

Date: 2013-09-27 06:15 am (UTC)See, I think Liz's dynamic with her father (what we've seen of it in this one episode) is really interesting, and I think if they were all "Yep, Red's actually her daddy" it would sort of cheapen the groundwork they've already laid. It's crazy, because even though we've actually been given so little information about these people, I already feel really strongly about them- and that's so great.
I like the idea that Red knew her dad, though. It would certainly make sense.
