Title: A Different Path
Fandom: The Hobbit
Pairing/Characters: Fili/Kili/Tauriel, Bilbo Baggins/Thorin Oakenshield, Dis, The Company
Summary: Kíli’s version of the events of An Accidental Engagement.
Rating: NC-17
Length: Long (16,195 words)
Disclaimer: None of this belongs to me, except the things I made up about dwarf courting.
Notes/Warnings: Includes incest, obviously, and some suicidal behavior.  An Accidental Engagement should probably be read first even though this is very different in tone.
Excerpt: Kíli knew that he needed to convince Fíli that yes, he loved Tauriel- but he loved Fíli too and if he did nothing else for the rest of his life he would find a way to be with both of them, whether such a thing was customary among their kind or not. Kíli also knew that he was only likely to get one chance to do it, so it was going to have to be perfect.

And as Fíli would have told anyone who asked, getting things right in one try was not one of Kíli’s specialties.

Title: An Accidental Engagement
Fandom: The Hobbit
Pairing/Characters: Bilbo Baggins/Thorin Oakenshield, Fili/Kili/Tauriel, Dis, The Company
Summary: Bilbo's fake-it-'til-you-make-it interpretation of dwarven culture is working quite well for him, thank you very much- all the way up until it really, really isn't.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium (8,445 words)
Disclaimer: None of this belongs to me, except the things I made up about dwarf courting.
Notes/Warnings: Apologies for all the background OT3 that happened in this fic.  You can read Kili's POV of the events in this story in A Different Path, which is much more explicit than this fic.
Excerpt: “It’s something I’ve been working on, for Thorin. It’s a … chronicle. Of our adventure.” Bilbo thought that would be fine thing for Thorin to have, but suddenly he found himself wondering if it was a suitable gift for a king. “That is… right, isn’t it?”

“Yes,” Kíli said eagerly. He was practically glowing. “Since you’re not one for dwarven crafts, that is. It’s a work of your hands and a very symbolic one too. It’s perfectly appropriate.”

Bilbo glanced at Fíli for confirmation, and found him unusually pale. But then, Kíli was elbowing him rather hard and perhaps in a place that was still tender. “Yes,” Fíli agreed at last, and conjured a slow smile. “It’s appropriate.”

Title: What Comes Next
Fandom: The Musketeers
Pairing/Characters: Aramis/Athos/Porthos (from established Aramis/Porthos), d'Artagnan
Summary: Between "Knight Takes Queen" and "Musketeers Don't Die Easily" the boys get on the same page (in more ways than one).
Rating: NC-17
Length: Medium (10,221 words)
Disclaimer: These characters don't belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: I'd done the natural amount of speculating, regarding the actual pre-1x10 conversation where the guys work out who knew what when, but it wasn't until I rewatched "Commodities" that I had a real light bulb moment regarding a possible sticking point. And thus this fic was born.
Excerpt: Athos looked dazed, as he often did when confronted by strong emotions. Aramis knew from experience that the only way to keep Athos from retreating into his head- and from thence a bottle- when he was like that was to give him something to do or someone to worry about.

Title: Brand New Start
Fandom: The Musketeers
Pairing/Characters: Athos/Constance/d'Artagnan, Aramis, Porthos, Ninon
Summary: Modern AU: Constance always has trouble with the holidays. This year may or may not be worse than usual.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium (9,021 words)
Disclaimer: These characters don't belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: My Christmas offering. This was originally conceived as kind of an office AU, which was a silly idea for me to have because- as is undoubtedly apparent- I know very little about working in an office. I fiddled with it a bit and as a result the characters work… somewhere, doing… something, and are frighteningly unprofessional about it.  Title from "Drunken Angel" by Thea Gilmore, from her holiday album Strange Communion.
Excerpt: After that, Constance went upstairs and took a shower, as if she could wash away the painful wish that she had just said yes to d’Artagnan’s offer and was currently driving home to see his family with him. She reminded herself of why she’d said no- because she did have work to do, and anyway spending Christmas with the family was a big move for two people who had only been dating for a few months. A voice in her head protested that it was more likely her attachment to her own self-imposed isolation that had made her say no, even when she’d already made the leap and started dating d’Artagnan in the first place. The voice sounded horribly like Athos.

Constance reminded the Athos-voice that he had no business talking about self-imposed isolation, and did what she always did when her life just didn’t seem right.

She went to work.

Title: Having Plans
Fandom: Longmire
Pairing/Characters: Henry Standing Bear/Vic Moretti/Walt Longmire, The Ferg, mentions of Vic/Ed Gorski and Vic/Sean Moretti
Summary: Sequel to Endings and Beginnings
Rating: PG-13
Length: Short (2,855 words)
Disclaimer: These lovely characters are not mine.
Notes/Warnings: So, this is probably not everything everyone was hoping for in a sequel to Ending and Beginnings. What can I say? I was inspired by Henry’s least favorite holiday, and then I needed a few days to get it off the ground. I adore Vic’s family in the book series, but since I’m pretty sure that the whole Gorski business would not have gone down like it did on their watch I have concluded that TV canon Vic’s family is very different, and I don't recall any mentions of them in the series, so I used that as an excuse to make them less than awesome.
Excerpt: “What are you doing for Thanksgiving?” Vic asked.

If the non-sequitur bothered Walt, he didn’t show it. “The same thing I always am, probably. Having a dinner of things which are not turkey, cranberry sauce or sweet potatoes with Henry. Sometimes Cady comes along. Sometimes not.”

“And this year?”

“I think she’s going to visit some friends from law school. As is probably evident, it was never a big family event, even when Martha was still with us.”

Title: Endings and Beginnings
Fandom: Longmire
Pairing/Characters: Henry Standing Bear/Vic Moretti/Walt Longmire, mentions of Ed Gorski
Summary: Vic's housewarming- such as it is.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Short (2,306 words)
Disclaimer: These lovely characters are not mine.  I just... come along occasionally and try to sort out their angst.
Notes/Warnings: Written for my hc_bingo square gaslighting (my card is here), so warnings for mentions of off-screen (and long past) gaslighting.  This fic is ultimately me trying to work through how unsatisfactorily I thought the Ed Gorski plotline was resolved (as far as Vic's characterization is concerned), but it's set in some nebulous post-S3 future where things have calmed down, and Vic's divorce is finalized.  It's entirely TV canon but it was somewhat inspired by book canon- mainly the part in Hell is Empty when Vic has moved into her own house and Walt is supposed to have dinner there with her and Henry but doesn't make it because he's Walt, and also Walt's general book canon tendency to invite Henry along on his dates.
Excerpt: She’d gone about it badly- the whole moving to a new house thing. Between the stuff Sean had taken with him when he transferred to another damn country, and the stuff she had never wanted to see again after he did, and the stuff she didn’t feel like unpacking now that it was here, the place was basically unfurnished.

Title: Legends
Fandom: Sanctuary
Pairing/Characters: Helen Magnus/James Watson; mentions of Helen/John Druitt and James/John Druitt
Summary: Helen and James- and the changing times.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Short (1,426 words)
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me.
Notes/Warnings: This was written for the older_not_dead promptathon 18 prompt "history class."  Also, it's been quite a while since I saw Sanctuary last, and there are parts of the final season I never saw, so bear that in mind.  This is set pre-series, but my timeline could be wonky.
Excerpt: Helen enjoyed having dinner with James, of course she did, but when it came to his tastes- in food, in wine, in nearly everything- it was as though no time had passed at all. When he dressed for dinner, it might as well have been 1888 again. Helen didn’t mind dressing for dinner- she enjoyed looking good as much as anyone- but she favored modern styles. She hated to look in the mirror and forget how much time had passed.
